
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia ranked fourth among G20 countries in the World Economic Forum’s Road Quality Index for 2023, achieving 5.7 points up from 5.2 points, the Saudi General Authority for Roads revealed.
The Road Quality Index is one of the components of the Global Competitiveness Index published annually by the World Economic Forum (WEF). It represents an assessment of the quality of roads in a given country based on data from the WEF Executive Opinion Survey, a long-running and extensive survey tapping the opinions of over 14,000 business leaders in 144 countries.
In this regard, the Saudi Minister of Transport Saleh AI Jasser stated that this achievement underscores the Kingdom’s efforts to elevate the quality of road infrastructure and boost roads’ operational capacities while following the best standards and safety measures.
Meanwhile, Acting CEO of the General Authority for Roads Badr Aldulami affirmed that the roads sector in the Kingdom saw significant changes thanks to implementing several projects and initiatives in addition to adopting leading-edge technologies.
