
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Uber, a global provider of ride-hailing services, aims to expand its partnerships with Saudi Arabia to cover the advanced air transport field, including electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles.
The transportation company also plans to introduce autonomous vehicles in the Kingdom soon, Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, stated in an interview with Asharq Al Awsat newspaper.
Khosrowshahi emphasized the importance of providing land and air transport solutions to leverage this cutting-edge technology in trips that extend over 100 miles.
He clarified that introducing autonomous vehicles will play a crucial role in the transport system and fuel Uber’s future operations.
The official further highlighted Uber’s efforts to achieve the Kingdom’s urban transport goals by enhancing public transport and boosting access to them.
Uber provides its services to more than 800,000 passengers in 17 cities across Saudi Arabia. It launched its Uber Reserve service that allows travelers to book their trips to and from train stations.
