Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef met with several officials from leading Brazilian companies to discuss ways of localizing the food industry in Saudi Arabia.
The meetings, which came as part of Alkhorayef’s official visit to Brazil, showcased the latest developments in modern manufacturing technologies in the food industry and discussed opportunities to transfer knowledge and innovation, according to a statement by the ministry.
The minister met with Minerva Foods officials to explore promising investment opportunities in the sector and showcase innovative food manufacturing technologies.
Further, Alkhorayef met Gilberto Tomazoni, CEO of JBS, one of the world's largest companies in meat and poultry production, to discuss the company’s expansion plans in Saudi Arabia.
JBS is currently establishing a food factory in Jeddah with investments amounting to SAR 500 million to meet the needs of the Saudi food market. The new factory is scheduled to start operations by the end of 2024.
