Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Farid, the Egyptian education technology (EdTech) company, secured $250,000 in a pre-seed funding round from the Saudi businesswoman Amal Alajlan to expand into Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Farid will allocate the investment to upgrade its platform, enhance training content, and hire more employees and trainers, the company announced in a statement.
It also aspires to forge partnerships with several schools and universities to reach more beneficiaries.
Founded in 2024 by Mahmoud Hussein, Farid provides innovative educational solutions to enhance children’s skills and welfare.
Hussein stated that Farid’s regional expansion plan includes launching the platform in several schools and educational institutions in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, and reaching around 20,000 new users within the next two years. It also aims to provide training for 10,000 graduates and develop its content by adding new workshops and curriculums to enhance children’s skills and support their mental health.
Targeting children and youth aged three to 18 years, Farid is committed to unlocking each child's full potential and preparing them to become future leaders with solid values, ethical principles, and effective leadership skills.
