Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Saleh Al-Jasser announced the signing of 69 agreements worth over SAR 17 billion on the first day of the Global Logistics Forum (GLF24).
The Minister told Al Arabiya Business that one of the agreements between Saudi Arabia and Egypt was signed to facilitate maritime transport and tourism in the Red Sea and integration for this purpose.
Some other deals and memoranda of understanding were also inked for airports and shipping centers, Al-Jasser added.
Al-Jasser also revealed that the Riyadh Metro is nearing its grand opening, which is expected to take place within just a few weeks. He highlighted that the metro is undergoing daily testing, calling it an “exceptional and historic project.”
The Riyadh Metro spans 176 kilometers and includes 85 stations. The metro system will integrate with the Riyadh Bus Network, which comprises 24 routes stretching 1,083 kilometers, serving 776 stations
The two-day Global Logistics Forum kicked off yesterday and ends today, Oct. 14. It is being held at the King Abdullah Financial District and is organized by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, under the patronage of King Salman.
