Biban 2024 commences with participation of over 1,300 exhibitors

Biban 2024 kicks off today with participation of 1,350 exhibitors and more than 250 speakers

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Biban 2024, Saudi Arabia’s flagship event for startups and entrepreneurs, kicks off today under the theme ‘Global Destination for Opportunities,’ with the participation of more than 1,350 local and international exhibitors, over 250 speakers, and more than 150 enablement entities from around the world.

Organized by the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at), Biban 2024 targets creating a stimulating environment, raising administrative, financial, and technical competencies, and motivating the owners of ideas to launch their projects by allowing them to meet with local and global experts and share knowledge with key decision-makers and investors

The event, running until 9 November, offers a platform to exchange ideas and discuss the newest trends in business and different sectors to strengthen business networks.

It focuses on empowering the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Kingdom for local and international entrepreneurs through nine doors: Enablement Door, Fast-growing Enterprises Door, Funding and Investment Door, Startup Door, Innovation Door, E-commerce Door, Franchise Door, Market Door, and Start Door.

Expected to welcome over 160,000 visitors, Biban 2024 will provide 10,000 investment and entrepreneurial opportunities, 420 workshops for over 19,000 beneficiaries, and consultation and guidance sessions for more than 5,000 beneficiaries.

One of the key objectives of Biban 2024 is to enable enterprises and entrepreneurs by offering more than 25,000 training opportunities and giving entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), investors, and other stakeholders the chance to connect with more than 150 local and global entities.

It further targets partnering with non-profit organizations, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s regional advantages, increasing the participation of local and international entrepreneurs, and showcasing investment opportunities to access funding.

Additionally, Biban 2024 hosts the final qualifiers of the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) with the participation of over 16,000 competitors from more than 150 countries, including six Saudi startups. The top 100 finalists will vie for cash prizes amounting to $1 million, in the presence of 120 investors. This event will help launch projects, forge partnerships, get SMEs traction and exposure, and create lasting collaborations.

It should be mentioned that Sharikat Mubasher partakes in Biban 2024 as a Media Partner.

Nutanix: AI adoption accelerates across Saudi Arabia's enterprise sector
Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi organizations are rapidly advancing from AI experimentation to enterprise deployment, but many are grappling with governance, infrastructure readiness and data sovereignty as they scale their initiatives, according to Nutanix's latest Enterprise Cloud Index (ECI) report.The study found that AI is driving a shift in enterprise IT strategies, with 85% of Saudi IT executives expecting application containerization to increase over the next three years. Meanwhile, 72% said AI is accelerating their organization's adoption of containers, while 82% of companies using containers for AI applications are building new applications in containerized environments.The report also highlighted governance concerns, with 77% of respondents warning that the use of unsanctioned AI tools poses business risks. Nearly two-thirds (65%) said employees outside IT had implemented AI applications without official oversight.Data sovereignty remains a top priority, with 78% of executives considering it a critical factor in infrastructure decisions. More than half (53%) said security and data protection concerns require infrastructure to remain within Saudi Arabia, either on-premises or in local cloud regions.Talal Alsaif, Regional Director for Central Gulf at Nutanix, said Saudi enterprises have an opportunity to maximize AI's potential by modernizing their infrastructure through hybrid multicloud strategies that strengthen governance, support containerized applications and ensure data sovereignty.
