MENA’s women entrepreneurs seized 2.5% of the world’s venture capital funding

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Women entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region are increasingly becoming a powerful force for economic growth and social change, backed by the region’s shift towards supporting women in entrepreneurship.

Noor Sweid, Founder and Managing Partner of Global Ventures, stated that women entrepreneurs in the MENA region seized 2.5% of the world’s venture capital (Vc) funding.

In a discussion session held on the sidelines of the Global Women’s Forum (GWF), Sweid stated that the region needs to expend more efforts to promote women’s role in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and increase investors’ trust in their capabilities.

She invited Arab women entrepreneurs to provide exceptional services that cater to individuals’ needs to gain investors’ trust.

The third edition of GWF took place in Dubai on 26 and 27 November gathering a distinguished array of global leaders, senior government officials, private sector executives, renowned experts, academics, and entrepreneurs.

With over 60 sessions and the participation of 100 inspiring leaders and influencers worldwide, the Forum showcased the most exemplary global practices supporting women's empowerment.
