Nine Saudi entities launched an AI hackathon to improve productivity in public and private sectors

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) launched the AI Hackathon for Optimizing Productivity in the Public and Private Sectors, in partnership with Saudi ministries and entities.

According to SDAIA, this initiative provides valuable opportunities for innovators and experts to explore how AI can drive efficiency, accelerate progress, and minimize resource waste across various fields.

SDAIA co-organizes the hackathon in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the Ministry of Finance (MoF), the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Expenditure Efficiency and Projects Authority (EXPRO), the National Center for Government Resources Systems (NCGR), the Digital Government Authority, and the National Technology Development Program (NTDP).

The hackathon targets AI engineers, programmers, and individuals interested in improving and increasing productivity, providing a prize pool of SAR 1.5 million for winners

It aims to foster innovation in the field of AI, develop effective and applicable solutions, strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors, and raise the community’s awareness about the importance of AI in improving productivity.

The hackathon will further provide participants with an environment to nurture creativity and develop AI-based solutions that enhance productivity in both public and private sectors, in addition to offering access to prototypes that have a direct impact on optimizing processes, saving time, and reducing costs.

Moreover, the AI hackathon targets inspiring participants to develop solutions that address the needs of both public and private sectors and contribute to building sustainable partnerships, thereby boosting national productivity.
