SpaceUp Competition presents contractual opportunities and focuses on space-based solutions for challenges in vital sectors

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) and the Saudi Space Agency launched SpaceUp, a global competition for entrepreneurs that focuses on space-based solutions, in partnership with Neo Space Group.

According to CST, the competition presents contractual opportunities worth around $28 million, and targets bridging the gap between demand in key economic sectors and suppliers using space-based solutions.

SpaceUp covers six challenge tracks: agriculture, heat island, infrastructure, urban roads, afforestation, and greening.

CST launched the competition in collaboration with key Saudi entities, including the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI), the Quality of Life Program, the Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center, and the Weqaa Center.

This global competition aims to create a space ecosystem that drives innovation and sustainability, promote space entrepreneurship in the Kingdom, support local companies specializing in space technologies, and attract global startups.

It is worth noting that the application phase will conclude on 12 April, after which the organizers will review all submitted applications during the qualification phase to verify that each applicant meets the requirements.
