Doha – Sharikat Mubasher: banknbox is setting up its Gulf headquarters in Qatar after securing a license from the Qatar Financial Centre.

According to a recent press release, this move marks the company’s first regional expansion, bringing its unified payment platform, CoreLINK, to the Qatari market.

The expansion comes through a partnership with Cwallet, signed during Web Summit 2025. Under this alliance, banknbox will provide services such as Himyan cards, prepaid Visa cards, and merchant solutions like SoftPOS and online payment processing. These efforts aim to enhance digital financial inclusion and improve Qatar’s payment ecosystem.

banknbox plans to launch its services in Q2 2025 once technical and regulatory preparations are complete. Bassem Mahmoud, banknbox CEO described the Qatar expansion as a strategic milestone, emphasizing that CoreLINK will offer advanced solutions to local banks and fintech firms.

Abdulla Al-Mashri, Cwallet CEO called the partnership a step forward for Qatar’s digital payment landscape, while Abdul Rashid Abdul Wahid, the CTO, highlighted the security and efficiency gains expected from the collaboration. Ajwat Asim, the CFO, added that the partnership aligns with Cwallet’s mission to expand financial access.
