Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia launched the “Advanced Manufacturing and Production Center,” a major step toward transforming the Kingdom into a knowledge- and innovation-driven industrial powerhouse.
The announcement came on Wednesday from Khalil Ibn Salamah, Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources.
The center is designed to help Saudi Arabia shift away from an oil-dependent economy by promoting large-scale manufacturing that leverages cutting-edge technologies, including those from the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Its goal is to enhance the global competitiveness of the local industrial sector and enable the emergence of new innovation-based industries.
Key objectives include supporting the localization of industrial production, opening export channels both regionally and internationally, and providing ongoing support to various strategic sectors. The center will also work to forge partnerships with private-sector manufacturers, helping them adopt advanced manufacturing technologies.
The initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s broader vision to establish a modern, tech-forward industrial base as part of its long-term economic diversification plans.
