Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s HUMAIN, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), is developing a computer with embedded artificial intelligence, expected to launch in the coming months.
Yaser Al-Onaizan, Deputy CEO and President of HUMAIN's Data & AI Models Unit, told Asharq Business that the company already has internal versions in use by employees, stressing that it is “an AI computer, not an ordinary one.”
On Monday, HUMAIN also introduced its new application “HUMAIN Chat,” powered by the Arabic-based language model “Allam.” The app can interact in both Arabic and English, supports multiple Arabic dialects such as Egyptian and Lebanese, and reflects local cultural values in its design.
The model was trained on more than 500 billion words from newspapers, books, dissertations, medical and scientific materials, with expert oversight to ensure quality responses. Al-Onaizan noted that while the model has been launched in Saudi Arabia, the company is now seeking user feedback to further improve it.
