Cairo – Sharikat Mubasher: Egyptian Insurtech startup SehaTech announced the successful close of a $1.1 million Seed funding round, bringing its total funding to $2 million.
With the new investment, SehaTech plans to grow its team, expand operations across Egypt and the wider region, and enhance its AI capabilities to further automate claims, approvals, and payments within the health insurance ecosystem, as per the company’s press release.
The round, led by Ingressive Capital with participation from Plus VC, strategic angel investors, and existing backers A15, Beltone Venture Capital, and a leading industry veteran, underscores growing investor confidence in SehaTech’s mission to transform health insurance administration.
SehaTech operates a full-stack, AI-powered platform that automates health insurance workflows, minimizes operational inefficiencies, and reduces fraud, helping bridge the gap between insurers and healthcare providers. The company also seeks to address low health insurance penetration in Egypt and across emerging markets by building a more inclusive and financially sustainable system.
Mohamed Elshabrawy, Founder and CEO, said the new capital will enable SehaTech to expand access to quality health coverage and further develop tools that streamline communication between insurers and providers.
Maya Horgan Famodu, Founder and Managing Partner at Ingressive Capital, highlighted SehaTech’s role in driving healthcare financial inclusion, describing its work as vital to overcoming infrastructure challenges that limit access to quality care.
