Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: DHL Supply Chain is set to invest €130 million ($150 million) in a new logistics hub in Riyadh, aiming to capitalize on Saudi Arabia’s drive to become a regional trade gateway.

Construction is expected to start next year, with the 78,000-square-meter facility scheduled to open in 2027 near King Khalid International Airport’s Special Integrated Logistics Zone, Orkun Saruhanoglu, the CEO, told Bloomberg.

The hub will serve DHL’s technology, e-commerce, automotive, and other high-growth sector clients, supporting both domestic and regional trade while offering space for manufacturing and distribution. Saruhanoglu noted the bonded corridor to the airport could shorten clearance times and that some global clients are exploring shifting more regional distribution to Saudi Arabia.

He added: “This is just the first step of our group’s €500 million investment in the Middle East,” highlighting that Saudi Arabia has become DHL’s fastest-growing market in the region. The move aligns with Vision 2030, which aims to attract foreign investment and position the kingdom as a trade hub linking Asia, Europe, and Africa.
