Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Mawani and sustainability platform NetZero launched the “Green Ports Initiative,” a new program aimed at linking smart operational indicators with environmental sustainability metrics across Saudi Arabia’s ports sector.
As part of the initiative, NetZero signed a cooperation agreement with King Abdulaziz Port to roll out the program across ports in the Eastern Province, according to a joint press release.
The initiative combines smart afforestation technologies with logistics operational data, allowing ports to directly measure and verify the environmental impact of their activities. The program is designed to enhance operational efficiency, reduce carbon emissions generated by logistics operations, and support the objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative.
The companies said the partnership aims to accelerate the transition toward more sustainable and climate-resilient maritime infrastructure while establishing a collaborative model for environmental sustainability across the Kingdom’s logistics and port ecosystem.
