Global law firm DLA Piper submitted an application to obtain the lisence to open a RHQ in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: DLA Piper, a global law firm providing legal solutions to businesses worldwide, submitted an application to the Saudi Ministry of Investment (MISA) to obtain a license for incorporating a regional headquarters (RHQ) in Riyadh, according to Michael McGuinness, Partner at DLA Piper.

This move demonstrates the company’s commitment to Saudi Arabia, the priorities of Vision 2030 and the upcoming Vision 2040, and to managing its business regionally from Riyadh, McGuinness stated in an interview with the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on the sidelines of an event held by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

“We have realized, in recent years, as part of the Vision 2030 program, goals, and objectives, that we really need to be part of the local economy, to invest locally, and align ourselves with the national priorities of the Kingdom,” McGuinness said.

He highlighted that DLA Piper’s decision to open a regional headquarters in the Saudi capital follows the opening of its new office at King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in June. “We find the district to be a wonderful place in the financial center of Riyadh at the heart of the Saudi Arabian economy, and we are excited to be part of that business workstream.”

McGuinness added: “We initially were interested in Saudi Arabia almost a decade ago. We were excited by the Vision 2030 transformation plan and the speed and pace in which that was happening. As we became more a part of that plan, we realized how our business can contribute in the fields of AI, data regulation, critical minerals, energy transition, and other very important sectors that align with Vision 2030 priorities.”
