Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: EFG Hermes, the investment banking arm of Egypt's EFG Holding, plans to invest more than $150 million in Saudi Arabia's education sector over the next two years through its dedicated education fund, as it accelerates efforts to build a regional private education platform to exploit the huge growth of private education in the Kingdom.
Speaking to Asharq Bloomberg, Karim Moussa, Co-CEO of EFG Hermes, said the fund has so far raised $250 million toward its $300 million target and has already deployed approximately $125 million across six schools in Saudi Arabia.
The company plans to expand its Al-Hayat Schools network in the Kingdom this year, while also evaluating the acquisition of two additional schools and entering the early childhood education sector within the next two years. The expansion is driven by continued strong demand for private education in Saudi Arabia.
EFG Holding currently manages $6.5 billion in assets across multiple investment funds and platforms spanning education, energy, and private equity.
