Doha – Sharikat Mubasher: Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) announced it has taken part in an $875 million Series C financing round for Positron AI, an AI inference hardware and software company, valuing the company at $5 billion.

As per QIA’s press release, this round was co-led by NEA, Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners, Andra Capital, Jim Clark, founder of Silicon Graphics and Netscape, and other investors. QIA also participated in Positron AI’s Series B round in February 2026.

Positron AI develops technologies designed to make AI inference, the process of running trained AI models, more cost- and energy-efficient. Its memory-first architecture targets constraints around memory capacity, bandwidth, and power, while reducing reliance on High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and Chip-on-Wafer-on-Substrate (CoWoS) supply chains.

The new funding will support the development and commercialization of Positron AI’s next-generation technologies, including the tape-out of Asimov, its next-generation silicon, and the production ramp-up of Titan, a multi-terabyte-memory inference system.
