
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: A number of Saudi top banks and financial institutions teamed up with the Chinese technology corporation, Huawei, to leverage capabilities of its HUAWEI AppGallery in showcasing their banking applications.
The pact, which aims at transforming the landscape of digital banking in the region, includes Al-Rajhi Bank, Saudi National Bank, Riyad Bank, Alinma Bank and Bank Albilad, Arab News stated.
The collaboration will provide Huawei users with a bunch of advantages; they will be able to manage their bank accounts and conduct transactions at any time with no effort.
The applications will also include advanced technologies to secure payment transactions including face recognition and fingerprint authentication.
By collaborating with Huawei, the Saudi banks will broaden their banking applications outreach to potential customers, marking a turning point in digital banking field across the Kingdom.
The collaboration comes in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objective to enhance digital payments and increasing the number of cashless transactions to 70% in 2025.
Huawei AppGallery is an app store for Google-developed open-source Android operating system. It is available in more than 170 countries and regions with over 580 million monthly active users.
Founded in 1987, Huawei Technologies Company manufactures and sells telecommunications equipment, consumer electronics, smart devices, in addition to various rooftop solar products.
