
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Saudi National Energy Services Company (Tarshid) commenced renovation works in the laboratories complex of the Saudi Drugs and Food Authority (SFDA) in Riyadh as part of its project to boost power efficiency of complex’s buildings and facilities.
Through the project, Tarshid targets lowering power consumption in 9 of the SFDA’s buildings, in accordance with best international standards, SPA stated.
The CEO and Board Member of Tarshid, Waled Alghreri, stated that the project targets reducing the annual power consumption by around 19% from 21 million kWh to 17 million kWh after completing the renovation works.
Tarshid conducted the necessary field surveys and technical studies on the targeted premises and facilities, the CEO added, noting that the company will apply four key standards to boost power efficiency including the control systems, air conditionings, lights, in addition to replacing some cooling units with other high-efficient ones, and installing the Building Management System (BMS).
The company will also replace usual lightening system with energy-efficient LED ones, in addition to installing control sensors in offices, buildings, and facilities of the laboratories complex.
Tarshid was established by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) to accelerate the development of energy efficiency in Saudi Arabia. It targets developing, funding, and managing impactful energy efficiency projects in government and commercial sectors that achieve significant energy savings for the Kingdom.
