
Riyadh- Sharikat Mubasher: King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) inaugurated the largest innovation hub in the Middle East, The Garage, as part of the Kingdom’s strategy to thrive startup ecosystem.
The Garage is situated in Riyadh over a total space of 28,000 square meters, including a bustle workspace and accommodating more than 300 startup companies, SPA reported.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Abdullah Alswaha, the Minister of Communications & Information Technology, Munir El-Desouki, the president of KACST, in addition to a panel of officials, experts, startups sectors enablers, and startup founders.
The Garage, which was a parking building, encompasses 24 conference rooms, training workshop amenities, and meeting spaces accommodating more than 1,000 people.
Earlier in 2022, The Garage started empowering startups in collaboration with various partners, including Google for Startups and the National Technology Development Program.
It introduced six programs: ACCESS Disability Technologies Accelerator, Garage Incubator, MVP Lab, GAIA Accelerator, as well as the business accelerator under the Garage Plus and the first edition of the Anter.
The launch of The Garage is a turning point in the startup industry, as startup founders will be able to join this hub as part of an integrated system of partners and founders.
Moreover, The Garage serves as a key world-class innovation hub that fosters emerging technology-based startups launched in Riyadh.
