Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Nesma Company inked a memorandum of understanding with the Seoul-headquartered CJ Logistics Corporation to establish a global distribution center (GDC) in Riyadh’s Special Integrated Logistics Zone.
The new GDC is scheduled to be launched in 2024 and will serve as a forwarding base and hub for logistics in the region, connecting the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, the Korean corporation announced.
As per the MoU, Nesma and CJ Logistics will join efforts to explore more business opportunities.
The new center will offer international delivery of iHerb products, one of the largest online retailers for health and wellness products, to the Middle East.
Furthermore, CJ Logistics stated that the new GDC will feature cutting-edge logistics technologies and infrastructure to become a logistics hub that leads the Middle East e-commerce market.
The MoU came as part of CJ Logistics’ strategy to expand in the logistics services sector in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
Nesma is a privately owned company with a robust business portfolio across multiple sectors in Saudi Arabia and a presence in the UAE and Egypt.
These sectors include construction, power and electrical, oil and gas, real estate and property management, hospitality and tourism, operation and maintenance, port, marine and shipping services, aviation and logistics, and telecommunication and IT.
