
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Company (EVIQ) inaugurated a first-of-its-kind research and development (R&D) facility in the region, according to the company’s press release.
The new facility, located in Riyadh, will be used for testing a range of chargers and software to ensure the deployment of best-in-class equipment and related software.
Mohammad Bakr Gazzaz, CEO of EVIQ, stated that the launch of the R&D facility aligns with the company’s dedication to developing sustainable EV infrastructure in the Kingdom.
“Our state-of-the-art facility ensures that EVIQ remains at the cutting-edge of EV charging solution development, bringing users the optimal charging experience, and ensuring every EV driver in KSA has access to reliable and efficient charging solutions,” Gazzaz stated.
He added that the facility will focus on top-quality charger deployment and ensuring compatibility with a range of EVs to pave the way for the growth of a sustainable and advanced EV ecosystem in the Kingdom.
The new R&D facility will enable EVIQ to deliver premium-quality EV charging solutions by testing various types of chargers.
EVIQ was recently established as a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) to foster EV adoption in Saudi Arabia.
