Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Qiddiya Investment Company announced the launch of the multi-functional Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium to enhance Qiddiya’s philosophy of the Power of Play.

In a statement, the company revealed that the iconic multi-use venue ‎was designed by leading global architectural firm Populous to be the world’s first fully integrated venue with a combined retractable roof, pitch, and LED wall.

Featuring 45,000 seats, the stadium will serve as the home ground of Saudi Pro League football clubs Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr and will host some of the region’s biggest sports events.

It will host events all year round thanks to its climate-controlled facilities, where energy consumption will be reduced through an eco-friendly cooling lake built directly under the stadium.

The iconic stadium is projected to drive tourism and create jobs with an estimated 7.6 million annual visits.

Abdullah Aldawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, stated that the company aims to transform Qiddiya City to become a global destination for entertainment, sports, and culture.

He added that the stadium uses state-of-the-art technology and innovative world-leading design to provide spectators with a unique experience.

“It will become a bucket-list destination for fans and enthusiasts across the world, hosting major events from across the world of sport and entertainment,” Aldawood noted.
