Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The global technology innovator IBM inaugurated a regional headquarters in Riyadh to expand its presence in Saudi Arabia.
The opening of the regional headquarters underscores IBM’s commitment to accelerating the Kingdom’s digital transformation, according to the company’s press release.
The Riyadh headquarters will also consolidate the company’s ongoing efforts to bolster the Kingdom’s tech prospects.
IBM’s Chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna commented: “IBM is helping clients in Saudi Arabia and around the globe reshape their business models and leverage these technologies to increase productivity and drive innovation.”
He emphasized the importance of transformative technologies like hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) in solving the most pressing challenges.
IBM obtained the regional headquarters license from the Saudi Ministry of Investment last November, in a meeting attended by Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih, and IBM’s Krishna, in addition to several government officials and IBM executives.
Al-Falih stated that IBM’s decision to establish its regional headquarters in Riyadh reflects the Kingdom’s success in developing a conducive business environment and ecosystem that complements our world-class ICT infrastructure.
It should be noted that IBM partnered with government entities and businesses to enhance Saudi Arabia’s tech landscape, including the local digital infrastructure, tech ecosystem, and Saudi talent.
