
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province Municipality signed an agreement with The Rig, a joint-stock company owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), to develop The Rig project, a recent statement revealed.
The agreement was signed by Raed Bakhrji, CEO of The Rig, and Fahad Aljubair, Mayor of the Eastern Province Municipality, in the attendance of Saud Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province.
The project targets enhancing visitors’ experience, increasing the region’s attractiveness to tourists, and boosting the economy of the region.
The agreement includes constructing and developing a tourist and visitor station, a marina for yachts and seaplanes, helipads, and various supporting activities to serve the project.
The Rig project is considered the first tourist destination in the world inspired by offshore oil platforms in the Arabian Gulf, making it unique on a global scale. It will feature hotels, several amusement parks, water sports, and various adventures.
