
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Alat, an innovative manufacturing company launched by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), partnered with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) to enhance the development of the semiconductor industry in Saudi Arabia, a recent press release stated.
The agreement was signed at LEAP 2024 by Amit Midha, CEO of Alat, and Muneer Al-Dosouqi, President of KACST.
As per the agreement, both parties will work together to support national goals for research, development, and innovation in the energy and industry sectors, through localizing the semiconductor industry and fostering collaboration in developing human resources for the sector.
Alat will provide support through industrial facilities and manufacturing solutions, leveraging KACST’s advanced technology facilities for joint research and training
Al-Dosouqi affirmed that the partnership with Alat will contribute to supporting the semiconductor ecosystem in the Kingdom by enhancing research, development, and innovation.
For his part, Midha said that Alat aims to enable the establishment of next-generation industry in Saudi Arabia.
“By partnering with a renowned institution such as KACST, with its deep expertise in advanced technologies and talent development, we will play an essential role in the creation of Saudi Arabia’s own semiconductor industry,” Midha added.
