Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The global technology company Microsoft plans to boost Saudi Arabia’s goals to become a global innovation and technology hub, Turki Badhris, President of Microsoft Arabia, revealed.
The company’s investments in the Kingdom aim at establishing a vibrant and thriving technology ecosystem, Badhris stated in an interview with Asharq Al Awsat newspaper.
He added that these investments will contribute to the Kingdom’s economic growth and diversification, in alignment with Microsoft’s vision to empower institutions of all sizes across various sectors with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) models.
Badhris noted that Mircosoft’s planned cloud data centers will have a positive impact on Saudi economic growth, as forecasts suggest that Microsoft, its partners, and cloud users could generate around $24 billion in new revenue over the upcoming four years.
Furthermore, Badhris noted that the company is working actively to empower the Saudi workforce with the necessary skills for innovation and technology leadership.
It should be noted that Microsoft signed an agreement with PwC Middle East to establish an AI Center of Excellence in Saudi Arabia, and inked another agreement with KPMG to launch a dedicated Center for Emerging Technologies (CET) in the Kingdom.
