Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s airports handled around 112 million passengers in 2023, marking a 26 % increase compared to 2022, a recent report released by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) stated.
The 'Air Traffic Report' for 2023 revealed that Jeddah and Riyadh were the two main hubs with 43 million and 32 million passengers, respectively, followed by Dammam with 11 million passengers and Medinah with 9 million passengers. All other airports across the Kingdom handled around 16 million passengers in 2023.
Regarding capacity utilization, the four major airports in the Kingdom boast an average of 92% utilization rate in 2023.
On the other side, a total of 197,000 international flights departed Saudi Arabia with 29.7 million passengers.
