Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Helicopter Company (THC), a premier commercial helicopter operator in Saudi Arabia, plans to cover more than 90% of the Kingdom within the upcoming years, according to CEO Arnaud Martinez.
The company currently has 15 bases and plans to increase this number to 25 or 26 bases at the mature stage, Martinez stated in an interview with Asharq Business on the sidelines of the Future Aviation Forum 2024 (FAF 2024).
He added that THC plans to increase the fleet size to include 60 aircraft by the end of 2024 and to encompass 90 to 100 aircraft within three to five years to match demands in several new segments, notably the Saudi tourism sector.
To broaden its scope, THC is opening a new segment to provide medical services and expand tourism services, Martinez noted.
He further said that the company has onboarded an average of 15 aircraft in the past three years and will continue to onboard an average of 15 aircraft within the next three years.
With a fleet of 49 aircraft, THC serves diverse segments, including emergency medical services (EMS), aerial work, private charters, and tourism.
THC, wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), aims to activate new sectors in Saudi Arabia in line with Vision 2030 by creating a new ecosystem for general aviation services and introducing safe and efficient transport services across the Kingdom.
