Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's new world-class airline Riyadh Air signed a partnership agreement with CellPoint Digital, the leading provider of payment solutions to the airline industry, to provide passengers with a seamless cross-border payment experience, a recent statement revealed.

Under this partnership, CellPoint Digital will provide Riyadh Air with leading-edge payment technology to boost its digital-first business strategy ahead of the airline’s commercial operations launch in 2025.

Riyadh Air will also leverage CellPoint Digital’s Payment Orchestration platform to process local and global transactions efficiently.

This partnership aligns with Riyadh Air’s vision to disrupt a Saudi commercial aviation market dominated by legacy players.

Adam Boukadida, CFO of Riyadh Air, said: “CellPoint Digital's Payment Orchestration platform enables us to offer travelers a fully digital and immersive experience onboard and a smoother booking experience.”

CellPoint Digital's Payment Orchestration platform uses intelligent routing, taking into consideration the pricing, processing and acceptance currency, and geographical location of the processor.

Meanwhile, Kristian Gjerding, CEO of CellPoint Digital, commented: “With our Payment Orchestration solution developed specifically for the unique challenges faced by global airlines, Riyadh Air can offer travelers their preferred payment options while gaining more control over its cash flow and costs.”

Riyadh Air aims to connect the Saudi capital to over 100 destinations by 2030.
