Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia ranked second among the G20 countries in the ICT Development Index (IDI) 2024 for the second consecutive time, a recent statement by the Saudi Communication, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) revealed.
The Kingdom also secured the top spot among the G20 in the pillar of meaningful connectivity and achieved second place in the pillar of universal connectivity.
These achievements reflect Saudi Arabia’s continuous efforts to develop and enhance the ICT sector and underscore the Kingdom’s leading position in the international index related to the ICT sector.
Further, the commission unveiled that the Saudi ICT market is the largest and fastest growing in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with market value amounting to SAR 166 billion.
Issued by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the IDI measures the development of ICT services in 170 countries through two main pillars: universal connectivity and meaningful connectivity. These pillars measure digital progress and the strength of digital infrastructure.
