Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia plays a pivotal role in realizing the global climate goals by launching more than 80 initiatives and investing over $180 billion to enhance the green economy, Saudi Minister of Economy Faisal Alibrahim stated.
During his speech at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) 2024, the minister emphasized the Kingdom’s leading position as a leader in the renewable energy sector.
Alibrahim further noted that Saudi Arabia spares no effort to achieve sustainability locally and adopts a comprehensive approach that includes all economic aspects and focuses on humans to unlock all potentials, in conjunction with Vision 2030.
It is worth noting that a Saudi delegation participates in the HLPF 2024 that takes place in New York from 8 to 17 July, with the theme of "Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions”.
The HLPF 2024 supports the implementation of the Political Declaration and other outcomes of the SDG Summit for advancing the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
