Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Lilium, a global manufacturer of electric aircraft and a leader in Regional Air Mobility (RAM), plans to establish facilities to produce components of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) jets in Saudi Arabia, according to CEO Klaus Roewe.

The eVTOL manufacturer aims to build the production facilities after starting its operations in the Kingdom, Roewe stated in an interview with Asharq Business KSA on the sideline of Saudia Group’s ceremony to sign the largest global agreement with Lilium.

The Saudi aviation conglomerate ordered up to 100 Lilium eVTOL jets that will be completely delivered during the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2026.

Roewe clarified that the company invested as much as $1.5 billion to develop and build up the production system of the electric aircraft

The CEO noted that the global demand for the eVTOL aircraft is expected to reach 40,000 aircraft by 2035.

Recently, Saudia Group signed a binding sales agreement for 50 Lilium Jets, with options for the purchase of 50 more.
