Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Lucy Electric, a leading global distributor of power solutions, launched a new manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia as part of its regional growth strategy, under the auspices of the Saudi Ministry of Energy (MoE).

The opening ceremony was attended by Fuad Mosa, Deputy Minister of Localization, Local Content, and Risk Management at MoE, Mohammad Abahussain, Deputy Minister for Integrated Investors Services at the Ministry of Investment, and Richard Dick, Chairman of Lucy Electric, along with several senior officials from the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the Saudi Electricity Company, a recent statement revealed.

The state-of-the-art facility, located near Dammam Second Industrial City, will produce advanced electrical equipment that will support the enhancement of smart grids and fulfill the Kingdom’s growing energy demands. It will also strengthen local manufacturing capabilities for medium-voltage switchgear.

This expansion reflects the company’s commitment to contributing to the Kingdom’s socio-economic development, energy sustainability, and Vision 2030 objectives.

The manufacturing facility will play a key role in ensuring future energy networks are more efficient, resilient, and reliable, supporting smart grid infrastructure.

Along with enhancing the company’s manufacturing capacity, the new facility will create job opportunities for Saudi nationals, in conjunction with the country’s Saudization goals.

John Griffiths, CEO of Lucy Electric, said: “The new facility reiterates our commitment to shaping a brighter, more sustainable future for Saudi Arabia, reflecting our belief in the potential of Saudi talent and the importance of local manufacturing in driving economic growth and sustainability.”

Moreover, the new facility will play a crucial role in supporting Saudi Arabia’s ambitious energy projects and its commitment to reducing carbon emissions under the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI).
