
Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: The Saudi Space Agency (SSA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA) to boost cooperation in space-related fields.
According to an official press release by SSA, the agreement was signed at the agency's headquarters in Riyadh in the presence of Mohammed Altamimi, CEO of SSA, and Yun Yong-bin, Director of KASA, along with officials from both sides.
The memorandum aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two agencies by establishing a framework for joint activities and programs in various space-related fields. These include deep space technologies, manned spaceflight programs, satellite launches and payloads, and capacity building in space science and engineering. The deal also emphasizes sharing knowledge and expertise in advanced space applications.
By promoting the exchange of information and technologies, the memorandum seeks to develop national capabilities, support research and innovation in the space sector, and create a more attractive investment environment. This initiative is expected to enhance the space economy and elevate both countries' global standing in the sector.
Altamimi described the memorandum as part of Saudi Arabia's efforts to expand international cooperation in space. He underscored the importance of global partnerships in advancing space technologies and fostering economic growth in the sector. Through this collaboration, the agency aims to integrate national expertise with Korean capabilities.
