Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Tesla is set to mark its official entry into the Saudi Arabian market with a high-profile launch event scheduled for April 10 in Riyadh.
As per the company’s announcement on its website, the event will showcase Tesla's electric vehicle lineup and highlight the company's latest innovations, including the autonomous Cybercab and the humanoid robot, Optimus.
The move comes as Tesla expands its presence in the Gulf region, tapping into Saudi Arabia's growing interest in sustainable transportation solutions. The Kingdom has been actively investing in the electric vehicle sector as part of its Vision 2030 plan to diversify the economy away from oil dependency. Notably, Saudi Arabia holds a majority stake in Lucid Group, a key competitor to Tesla in the EV space.
Tesla's expansion into the Saudi market follows a challenging period for the company in other regions. In Europe, Tesla reported a 42.6% decline in sales this year despite an overall rise in electric vehicle registrations.
The Riyadh launch event is expected to draw significant attention, with Saudi Arabia seen as a strategic market for Tesla's future growth in the Middle East. As demand for sustainable energy solutions rises in the Kingdom, Tesla's arrival could play a key role in shaping the region's electric mobility landscape.
