Cairo – Sharikat Mubasher: Capgemini is setting up a new AI Center of Excellence in Egypt, aiming to accelerate the adoption of generative and agentic AI for clients worldwide.

The hub, launching in May 2025, will focus on research, development, and real-world implementation across industries such as energy, life sciences, and aerospace, according to a recent press release.

Unveiled during the France-Egypt Investment Forum, Aiman Ezzat, CEO of Capgemini, said the new center will help clients scale AI within their own businesses while tapping into Egypt’s growing tech talent. The center will also serve as a global delivery hub, offering time zone alignment, multilingual capabilities, and easier access for international clients.

Capgemini plans to double its Egypt-based workforce to 1,200 by the end of 2025. The new team will include data scientists, engineers, and project managers tasked with building AI solutions that drive operational efficiency and product innovation.

Meanwhile, Hossam Seifeldin, CEO of Capgemini in Egypt, said: “Egypt is experiencing an impressive growth trajectory, fueled by digitalization and exceptional talent in AI. I am excited to build on the strong foundation we have established in the region. Doubling our workforce and establishing this new AI Center of Excellence will not only drive cutting-edge innovation but also create valuable opportunities for local talent to thrive in a global arena.”
