Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: A consortium led by Air Arabia, alongside Saudi firms KUN Investment Holding and Nesma, has been awarded the license to launch and operate a new low-cost national airline in Saudi Arabia.

The new carrier will be based at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, according to an announcement by the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) on X.com.

The airline is expected to operate 24 domestic and 57 international routes, aiming to serve around 10 million passengers annually with a fleet of 45 aircraft.

The move is part of efforts to enhance air connectivity in the Eastern Province, increase seat capacity, and offer more competitive options for travelers. This is also expected to create over 2,400 direct jobs within the aviation industry and contribute to tourism development and local economic growth in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
