Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Flynas is preparing to open two new centers in Saudi Arabia, one for pilot training and the other for aircraft maintenance, as part of a strategy to cut costs by moving these operations from overseas to within the Kingdom, CEO Bander Almohanna told Asharq Business.

The airline recently boosted its seating capacity after receiving five new Airbus aircraft and leasing five more, aiming to capture a larger share of Saudi Arabia’s expanding aviation market, where it currently holds a 14.5% share.

Flynas expects to receive three additional aircraft before the end of this year, and deliveries of 30 Airbus A330neo wide-body jets are scheduled to begin late next year and continue into early 2027.

Almohanna said the carrier is adding new destinations and routes, having launched 15 new routes and seven additional destinations this year.  The incoming wide-body fleet will allow Flynas to operate long-haul flights exceeding six hours, expanding beyond the current fleet’s range.
