Dubai – Sharikat Mubasher: AI robotics startup Buildroid AI announced it has stepped out of stealth mode with $2 million in pre-seed investment led by tech pioneer Tim Draper, the early backer behind Tesla, SpaceX, and Robinhood.
The announcement coincided with the launch of Buildroid’s first BIM-simulated block-laying robot at the Big Five Construction Conference.
With its new funding, Buildroid will expand pilot programs, enhance autonomous capabilities, and accelerate commercial rollout, as per a recent press release.
The company plans to deploy the first commercially available AI-robotic construction teams in Q2 next year, working with major contractors and sharing in the cost savings generated by their use.
Founded by Slava Solonitsyn, a Y Combinator alumnus who previously built Mighty Buildings, and Anton Glance, founder of Glance Clock, Buildroid aims to automate the labour-intensive partition-wall segment of the UAE’s $42.75 billion construction market. The block-laying robot is already being piloted on active job sites in the UAE.
