Dubai – Sharikat Mubasher: ThrowMeNot, a sustainability-focused online marketplace tackling food waste, has closed a $550,000 pre-seed funding round led by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mana bin Khalifa Saeed Al Maktoum. As per the company’s press release, the funding will be used to expand the team and scale delivery and fulfilment operations as the company works to enhance reliability and customer experience across the UAE.
ThrowMeNot plans to deepen its presence in the UAE before expanding across the wider MENA region, with ambitions to build a broader ecosystem around sustainable and conscious consumption.
Founded in 2025 by UAE-based entrepreneur Archie Rudyuk, ThrowMeNot focuses on redistributing near-expiry and surplus products that would otherwise be discarded. The platform connects suppliers with consumers by offering discounts of up to 90 percent on a wide range of products, while allowing suppliers to recover value from excess inventory.
The platform currently works with more than 25 suppliers and lists over 2,700 products across categories such as food, beauty, and wellness, representing more than 885 well-known brands. By aligning commercial incentives across the supply chain, ThrowMeNot aims to make waste reduction both profitable for suppliers and accessible for consumers.
