Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Arabian Internet and Communications Services Co. (solutions by stc) signed a SAR 1.4 billion ($373 million) contract with Saudi Aramco to develop a supercomputing platform that will support the energy giant’s exploration and production operations.
According to a statement to the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul), the one-year agreement involves building an advanced high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure to strengthen Aramco’s digital capabilities in oil and gas exploration and reservoir analysis.
The project will include two interconnected supercomputing systems operating as a single platform capable of processing large volumes of geological and operational data. The infrastructure will use advanced technologies from global HPC providers to enable faster data analysis and more accurate subsurface imaging.
Solutions will deliver the project on an end-to-end basis, covering system deployment, software licensing, and managed services throughout the platform’s lifecycle. The initiative further expands the long-standing digital infrastructure partnership between the two companies.
The new computing platform is expected to improve Aramco’s ability to analyze exploration data and accelerate decision-making in field development.
Solutions said the financial impact of the contract is expected to begin appearing in its results starting Q1 2027.
The project also highlights the company’s growing role in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, as Saudi Arabia continues to expand digital infrastructure supporting key sectors including energy.
