Saudi PoS sales hit SAR 178 bn in Q2-26; F&B sector leads

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's point-of-sale (PoS) activity continues to reflect the Kingdom's dynamic consumer landscape, with digital payments gaining further traction under the Vision 2030 financial inclusion agenda.

According to recent figures released by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), the PoS sales recorded SAR 178.9 billion during the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, made through more than 3 million transactions.

The food and beverages (F&B) sectors accounted for the largest share of PoS sales at SAR 28.8 billion, made through 737 million transactions, followed by the restaurants and cafés sectors, with sales of SAR 22.6 billion.

The number of PoS terminals slightly rose to 2.45 million in Q2-26, compared to 2.40 million in the previous quarter.

In June, the PoS sales in the Kingdom reached SAR 57.4 billion, made through 1 billion transactions. The F&B sector led the list with sales of SAR 9.2 billion, followed by the restaurants and cafés sector with sales amounting to SAR 7 billion.

The number of e-commerce transactions made using Mada cards across the Kingdom reached 566 million in Q2-26, with sales exceeding SAR 101 billion.
