Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to host the Global Supply Chain Forum (GSCF) 2026 from 29 November to 1 December in Riyadh.

The MoU was signed by Saleh Al-Jasser, the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Chairman of the Board of Mawani, and Rebeca Grynspan, the Secretary-General of UNCTAD, in the presence of several senior officials, according to the official statement.

Under the MoU, Mawani and UNCTAD will work closely across logistical, organizational, and technical aspects to ensure the professional organization of the forum, delivering an integrated experience for participants and enhancing the quality of the Forum’s outcomes by supporting the work of UNCTAD’s preparatory teams throughout the event’s preparation stages.

The MoU extends the existing partnership between the two entities and underscores Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role in leading global dialogue on the future of logistics services and supply chains.

Al-Jasser emphasized that hosting the Global Supply Chain Forum 2026 reinforces Saudi Arabia’s position as a global logistics hub connecting three continents and reflects the rapid progress in achieving the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.

For his part, Suliman Al-Mazroua, President of Mawani, affirmed that the authority will leverage its organizational and operational capabilities to deliver a distinguished edition that reflects the advancement of the Saudi ports ecosystem, supports integration between ports and global supply chains, and reinforces the Kingdom’s standing as a key hub in international trade flows.

The Global Supply Chain Forum 2026 will take place in Saudi Arabia concurrently with the second edition of the Global Logistics Forum. It will serve as an international platform to strengthen partnerships, exchange expertise, and foster innovation, contributing to improved efficiency and sustainability of global supply chains.
