Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia joined the AI Global Alliance launched by the World Economic Forum (WEF), Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim announced at the WEF Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development.
During the final plenary session, Alibrahim clarified that the Kingdom and the WEF will work on launching the Inclusive AI Initiative for Growth and Development to develop solutions for AI access and adoption.
He affirmed that this move enables the Kingdom to push the needle on the need for global governance in AI and ensure that this technology is inclusive for optimal global growth outcomes.
In a related context, Abdullah Alswaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated that Saudi Arabia paved the way for current generative AI regulations and legislation.
He said that the Kingdom is shifting from the industrial revolution to the intelligence revolution.
The WEF Special Meeting took place in Riyadh to contribute to a more stable and inclusive economic future by leveraging global cooperation for economic development, promoting a global energy transition that underpins sustainable development, and advancing technological advancement.
