Cairo - Sharikat Mubasher: WideBot, the Arabic-focused conversational AI platform, is gearing up to close a $4 million funding round before the end of 2024 to fuel its expansion plans in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, CEO Mohamed Nabil revealed.
WideBot aims to develop an Arabic large language model (LLM), such as ChatGPT, that supports several Arabic dialects, Nabil stated in an interview with Alarabiya Business.
He noted that WideBot will benefit various fields, including banking, healthcare, and communications, as well as the government sector.
The CEO clarified that companies and government entities in the region find difficulties in communicating with their clients using artificial intelligence (AI) as the global models are not available in Arabic.
WideBot focuses on developing an Arabic-focused LLM that features different dialects spoken in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and other Arab countries. It aims to optimize operations, enhance customer experience, and drive innovation across the region.
