Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: CERAWeek 2025, the most influential annual conference in the energy industry, takes place from 10 to 14 March in the USA, gathering energy leaders, government officials, and industry executives from around the world. Under the theme ‘Moving Ahead: Energy Strategies for a Complex World,’ the event focuses on the challenges ahead for energy security, supply, and climate ambitions.
Delivering a keynote speech at CERAWeek 2025, the President and CEO of Saudi Aramco Amin Nasser called for a fundamental shift in global energy transition planning, warning that the current approach risks severe economic and energy security consequences.
He stressed the urgent need for a new global energy model that balances sustainability, security, and affordability. “The model must genuinely serve the needs of developed and developing nations alike, as originally promised, especially when it comes to technology."
Nasser highlighted that the current strategy that prioritizes renewable and alternative energy while imposing restrictive regulations on traditional energy has proven ineffective. He argued that if this approach continues, the world will need to invest an additional $6 to $8 trillion annually.
It is worth noting that more than 10,000 participants from over 2,000 companies and 80 countries are attending CERAWeek 2025, which features over 1,400 expert speakers.
