
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: FlyNow Aviation, a leading producer and operator of electric cargo drones and air taxis, plans to launch its eCopter services, including single, twin-seater, and cargo versions, in Saudi Arabia starting in 2027.
According to the company, the first commercial cargo flight is expected to take place in 2024, with passenger operations planned to begin in 2029.
Commenting on this milestone, Co-Founder and COO Yvonne Winter said: “We are now in the middle of the series development of the cargo version. In two and a half years, we will start the cargo operations, and then we will have two years of cargo operations with approximately one million kilometers of flight.”
FlyNow Aviation plans to conduct test operations in Saudi Arabia this year to adapt its technology to the local environment. It also aspires to have a full air taxi operation in Riyadh by 2030, ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2034.
Further, the company successfully completed its first untethered test flights at its newly secured test site, marking a significant step toward its mission of enabling sustainable mobility in Saudi Arabia.
In 2024, the Salzburg-based company strengthened its presence in Saudi Arabia by establishing FlyNow Arabia and opening a regional office in Riyadh. FlyNow Aviation also announced plans to set up local production facilities in Saudi Arabia to manufacture ‘Saudi Made’ eCopters.
