
Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: South Korean company Hanwha inaugurated its Middle East and North Africa regional headquarters in Riyadh, marking a new step in strengthening defense ties between Saudi Arabia and South Korea.
Ahmed Al-Ohali, Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries, said on his X.com account that the move reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enabling global companies to invest in the defense sector and will further boost joint cooperation in the field.
Hanwha is South Korea’s seventh-largest business group, with innovative businesses in the areas of aerospace & mechatronics, energy & ocean solutions, finance, and retail & services.
Worth noting that Saudi Arabia’s drive to attract the regional headquarters (RHQs) of global firms resulted in bringing 616 companies by the first quarter of 2025, up from 571 in the previous quarter.
